Abstract: Fieldwork is considered to be a major component within geography, earth and environmental sciences curricula and is advocated as an effective learning environment by virtually all those who are involved in learning and teaching in these disciplines. The project undertook discipline pedagogic research to answer questions about the educational effectiveness of fieldwork.
